During Kate Bernheimer's exciting two-day visit to SDSU, she spoke to over 200 students in various venues from a fairy-tale writing workshop to fairy tale readings Monday evening Nov. 14 with MFA graduate students and many others to the talk pictured above on Tuesday afternoon in Love Library for children's literature students, scholars, and future teachers. She spoke with charm of her own love of fairy tales from her childhood reading days, her work to keep fairy tales alive and read by kids everywhere (and their parents), and answered questions from the audience.
Many of Kate's books were displayed during her presentations; these include her own fairy tale picturebooks with publisher Schwartz and Wade, the several collections of contemporary fairy tales she has edited, and her journal, Fairy Tale Review.
Come back soon, Kate!
