A Reminder about our San Diego chapter of the international organization for children's book writers and illustrators:

The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators is an international organization serving writers and illustrators of children’s literature, including books, magazines, educational material, plays, electronic media and film. SCBWI facilitates networking and information exchange amongst writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, literary agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved with literature for young people.

With over 19,000 members worldwide in over 70 regions, SCBWI provides its members with a wealth of resources, including:

  • National, regional and local conferences and events
  • Publications on the art and business of writing for young people
  • A bi-monthly newsletter
  • Awards
  • Grants
  • Networking opportunities
  • Online resources

Membership in the international organization includes membership in local and regional chapters. In other words, if you join SCBWI you are automatically a member of the San Diego Chapter, or if San Diego is not convenient for you, please see www.scbwi.org for other chapter locations.
