Bernheimer has published novels, stories, children’s books, and essays on fairy tales, and she has edited three influential fairy-tale anthologies. She is lauded for her ability, says author Kathryn Davis, to “take the fairy tale — that most of ancient of forms — and turn it into something...brand-new.”
In addition to writing, Bernheimer founded and is editor of Fairy Tale Review, the leading literary journal dedicated to fairy tales as a contemporary art form.
