Iranian books of IBBY Honour List
The website of Children's Book Council of Iran has held a virtual fair of Iranian books shortlisted for IBBY Honour List. IBNA: The institute has mounted a virtual fair of Iranian books accommodated in IBBY Honour List since 1974 so far. The list holds 51 Iranian books including 20 compilations, 14 translations and 17 books in the field of illustration. Some of the written books include Bahram Beyzaee's "Truth and the Wise Man", "Carpet weaving factory children" by Houshang Moradi Kermani, "I Was the Eighth of the Seven" by Erfan Nazar-Ahari, "Seventh Floor West" by Jamshid Khanian as well as "Crazy and well" written by Mohammadreza Shams. Moreover some of the translations are "Holes" translated by Hussein Ebrahimi, "Heaven eyes" translated by Nasrin Vakili and "The little prince" rendered by Mohammad Qazi. Illustrated books of artists including Nooruddin Zarrin-kalak, Abulfazl Hemmati Ahouee and Alireza Goldoozian were included as well. The IBBY Honour List is a biennial selection of outstanding, recently published books, honouring writers, illustrators and translators from IBBY member countries. The IBBY Honour List is one of the most widespread and effective ways of furthering IBBY's objective of encouraging international understanding through children's literature. |
