    Great book! Highly recommended. Not a children's book, but then what is?

    I'm almost done with it. I'm enjoying it, but find it to be a bit slow and overstuffed with subplots and lecture-y bits on just about every topic you can think of related to English and German culture at the fin de siecle. Still, it's fun for E. Nesbit fans (since the children's writer character in it is loosly based on her & her odd & chaotic personal life.
